 About Sound Healing

Experience healing on a holistic level through the sound and vibrations of a Tibetan singing bowl. Sound therapy helps the body heal on a deep, cellular level. It balances the chakras (energy centres), releases stuck energy and resets old patterns so that new ones can form.

The physical and subtle bodies go through a significant shift, and this is when change and transformation begin. The result is a state of equilibrium where you are living in harmony mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

As an alternative healing modality, sound healing is scientifically proven to help with acute and chronic ailments such as anxiety, stress and pain management, migraine, depression, sleep disorders, tinnitus, arthritis and cancer recovery, among other ailments.

Channelling the sound and vibrations from a set of bronze Tibetan singing bowls, April begins by bringing the body to a place of relaxation where it is open to receiving healing, then proceeding to activate and balance the 114 chakras (also known as energy centres in the body), including the seven main ones that are located from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. During the healing, she also places one bowl on the heart chakra to allow the vibrations to be felt on a deeper cellular level.

When our chakras are balanced and our internal network is functioning at an optimal level, we feel well-adjusted mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. We reach a state of equilibrium where we are happy, healthy and harmonious inside and out. In some cases, people have stepped into the healing with migraine, and neck and knee pain, and have come away relieved and pain-free. It also leaves you feeling light, lucid and energised as well as in a calm, relaxed state. The heightened clarity gained from a sound healing session could also open doors for spiritual realisation.

What some people are saying about their sound healing experience:

“My sound healing session with April took me to a place of peace, surrender and healing. April held the space beautifully through her personal attention to the purity and integrity of this healing practice. I recall feeling refreshed and in a warm, loving space after our session. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another session with April.” – Diwa Tharan

“It was a surreal experience; I was lulled into a super-relaxed state by the sounds from April’s singing bowls. I especially enjoyed the part where she placed the bowl on the body; the vibrations from the bowl could be felt throughout. At the end of the session, I felt calmer––a subtle shift inside my body.” – Goh Sue-Ann

“Sound healing was new to me and I must admit, the range of healing out there was daunting and I thought it was all a little mumbo jumbo…but I trusted April, whom I intrinsically felt was grounded and real. What an experience; I felt the sound waves physically and later, emotionally. Answers came unveiling and I felt a change that moved me in positive ways.” – Livian Lin

“I had a beautiful sound healing session with April. During the session, I was so relaxed and fell asleep. My mind stopped chattering and I felt my body loosen. It was so relaxing and therapeutic, and better than any meditation I have ever experienced.” – Anita Nathan

“This was not the first time I had received sound healing, but definitely the first where I became aware of its powerful healing effect. As April began creating sounds from her bowls, I felt an incredible calm…then suddenly, a strong numbness in my right foot.

Sound as pure as this touches the deepest part of our being. It clears our energy system and brings about healing. The sound is so pure that impurity cannot withstand it; thus, it purifies all that is impure or blocked in our system and brings it up to the surface so it can evaporate. Truly blessed to receive such a session…” – Jharana Bajracharya

About April

Growing up an avid music fan, April had always believed in the power of sound as a healing tool and was later fascinated by the idea of sound therapy. After completing her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2015, she proceeded to get certified as a sound healer, studying under her mentor Yogi Sivadas from the Kailash Tribal School of Yoga & Holistic Healing in Dharamsala, India, the home of the Dalai Lama and Tibetans in exile.

In February 2019, April returned to India, this time to Mysore, where she underwent additional sound healing training with Dr. Shashi Kumar. She loves conducting sound healing sessions as it is definitely a two-way gift: as she heals others with her singing bowls, she is also being healed. April finds joy in sharing this beautiful healing modality to anyone–you can often spot her placing a singing bowl on people’s heads!

She finds the sound and vibrations from singing bowls incredibly healing for the soul, and is hoping to add more to her healing arsenal with additional bowls and a gong.”
